Mana Whenua, Hokianga
Kia Ora
I left my government position to start Cleaning 4 Hauora in May 2025. The satisfaction and gratitude I was receiving from cleaning spaces far exceeded my 9 to 5. I wanted to build a cleaning business that does things differently—one grounded in tikanga māori, committed to eco-friendly practices, and focused on rebalancing more than just cleaning spaces.
Hokianga is my tūpuna whenua—the land of my ancestors. My whānau have connections here that span generations, and today I have the privilege of living on whanau whenua passed down through my tūpuna. That connection gives me a deep sense of responsibility to this place and the people who call it home. Cleaning 4 Hauora isn't an outside company; it's locally owned, community-focused, and hopefully here for the long term.
Before starting this business, I spent 14 years working on the frontline alongside whānau—advocating, supporting, and walking with people through some of life's most challenging moments. That experience shaped how I lead, how I serve others, and the respect I bring into every home, workplace, and community space.
I also hold qualifications in business, frontline management, administration, and Te Reo me ōna tikanga. Those skills provide the practical foundation for the business, while tikanga māori guides the way we care for people and the spaces they entrust to us.
The name Cleaning 4 Hauora reflects what this business is really about. Hauora is more than physical wellbeing—it includes our mental, spiritual, family, and environmental wellbeing too.
Whether we're cleaning a family home, a marae, or a commercial building, we treat every space with the same care and respect we'd expect for our own.
My ambition is simple: to build something that lasts. To create meaningful mahi for our locals, to serve our community with pride, and to leave a whanau legacy deeply embedded here in the North.
Our Values
Everything we do is grounded in these kaupapa.
Eco-Conscious
We use non-toxic, eco-friendly cleaning products that are safe for your whānau, pets, appliances, septic systems, and our precious waterways.
Manaakitanga
We care for our people, for our whenua, for our homes, and for our communities. Manaaki is at the heart of everything we do.
Whanaungatanga
Relationships matter. With our clients, our community, and our whenua. We show up, we do what we say, and we treat every space like our own.
Tika, Pono, Aroha
We do what's right, with honesty and integrity, and always with love and care. These principles guide every decision we make.
Whakawātea
We cleanse with respect, intent, and care. Whakawātea is about more than cleaning — it's about clearing and restoring balance to a space so whānau can breathe easier.
